Stories of A Family In Maine
Bootleggers, Sea Captains, and Stubborn love: The Maine Saga.
Welcome to the colorful chaos of our Maine family- a story stitched together with salt air, bootlegged whiskey, and a whole lot of stubborn love. This isn't your average family history; it's a mix of good clean scandal, sea spray, and pure survival. You'll meet iron-willed matriarchs like Eveline Paine, Cordelia "Daisey" Paine-Gray, Florence Cushing, Dorothy Harvie, and my mother Sherry Lyons - all women who could run a household like a tight ship and probably start a small rebellion all in the same day!
Our men weren't slouches either - Sea Captains who ferried freedom seekers to the North in Brewer Maine for safety, Bootleggers who hid their stills in the caves of northern Maine, and hardworking road construction workers who built 395, truckers, and Military who kept this family moving forward and our great country safe.
Through love, laughter, and the occasional scandal, one thing never changed: we stuck together. Because that's what you do when you're a Maine family - you weather the storm, pour another cup of coffee (or something stronger), and tell the story again, a little louder this time so we can all remember our own version.
Welcome to the Family.
